Patisserie Made Simple is a Sugar Flour class put into a book. There are over 80 petits gateaux recipes, all of which are made in one simple tin (a 16x26x3.5cm slice tin). The book was written with my customers in mind, I wanted to create a book that is a stepping stone between your typical baking book and a professional pastry book.
Each gateau has multiple elements, and my hope is that as you work your way through and your confidence grows, you'll start to mix and match recipes to make your own creations.

I (Maxine Scheckter) am a French trained pastry chef, have worked in restaurants and patisseries in Wellington (Logan Brown), Paris (Gateaux Thoumieux) and London (The Fat Duck and Sketch).
Sugar Flour is my true home, where I can welcome you and share my passion. I’ll take you through each class step by step, with guidance and care. Our classes are a place to have fun, and make something incredible without taking yourself too seriously! I’d love to welcome you and show you how to make something beautiful and delicious!
